Infrared
Mae bod yn niwrowahanol yn golygu bod yr hyn rwy'n ei weld, ei arogli a'i glywed yn cael ei gyflwyno a'i brosesu ar raddfa uwch. Being neurodivergent means what I see, smell and hear is delivered and processed on a magnified scale. An infrared camera, records elements of what a naked eye can not always see. My hyper-sensory observations are so intense and overwhelming, I use infrared photography to communicate how much detail I collate from a scene.

Tirabad Chapel, Llandulas

This Welsh abandoned chapel is displayed as an A2 sized print and of portrait orientation. This quaint chapel is hidden in the hills of mid Wales, in a small village called Llanddulas. The chapel sits in a graveyard with a startling white farm door; a large bell can be seen in the pitch of the roof. A path and fence lead you to the centre of the image where the chapel stands; surrounded by gravestones in the distance.

Severn Bridge

This image is of the first Severn bridge, the photographer has taken the image standing directly underneath the structure, at the river’s edge. The photograph was taken at sunset; the sun is shining down on the tall white deck arches. In the distance, is the English coastline which appear as white cliffs. The bridge emerges from the top right-hand corner and sweeps diagonally to the left across the channel. The reflection of the bridge arches can be seen in the still evening waters.

This A2, landscape orientation image presents Careg Ddu Dam in the Elan valley. The photographer has taken the image from the top of the dam, the dam curves through the landscape leading to a chapel on a hill in the distance. There are 12 arches within the dam, the centre arch is slightly wider. The silky, calm water appears to be moving and the clouds above shifting to the right; a slow shutter speed has been used to gain this effect.

This is an image of Carew castle situated centrally in the landscape. At the bottom left there is an historic boundary wall leading to the castle, adjacent a pedestrian black path can be seen through the arches of trees. The view of the castle has been taken by the artist from under a tree, the overhanging branches provide a natural frame for the castle which appears as a mysterious hidden gem.

This portrait orientation image is an intimate photograph of Castell Coch, the photographer has stood directly underneath the east tower, showing the texture of the castle bricks. The castle tower is framed by tree foliage and a weather vane can be seen. The infrared camera has turned the foliage into a snowy white effect with a thunderous blue sky.

The photograph was taken in Duffryn Gardens, Newport. This image of a pine tree has been captured vertically from below. The texture of the bark on the aged tree trunk, appears snakeskin like. The image was captured on a warm summers day, the dappled sun rays highlight different shades of blue throughout the branches creating a pattern of shadows inbetween white foliage.

This landscape of Garnswllt valley, near Swansea, boasts a high dynamic range between the black and white tonal range throughout the layers of the terrain. The infrared filter used highlights the contrast and textures in the foliage and ferns which lead you down through the valley. In the distance, 7 pylons are stood, they appear as giants in comparison to the surrounding trees.
